Sweet Car
By Alex | on Wednesday, May 18, 2011
I love this car, despite its few flaws. It is fuel-efficient, zippy, cute, feels solid and drives solid. The non-S engine is a bit sluggish, so selecting the correct gear is essential (in a manual). The interior is sturdy, but has some questionable build quality (best part is chrome switches). I like the ambiance and styling, but it can look a bit cartoonish. Overall, a lovely, capable, easy vehicle to drive and live with - I would have added the turbocharged engine, some additional creature-comfort options, and the better sound system.… - 2.0
always broke

This car could never go over 12 months without some kind of repair. Costs for repair are very expensive (replaced thermostat housing cost over $450) I have never gotten the promised gas mileage that the salesman said I would get and even the service tech didn't know what options this car had and admitted it had a problem that he couldn't fix. The one good thing about this car it is fun to drive.… - 5.0
FUN FUN FUN
By eagle65Â |Â on Saturday, January 22, 2011
I traded my '06 Mini Cooper S for our '09 Clubman S (used). I liked the supercharged '06 engine better than the '09 turbo, but it still gets the job done. We drove the Blue Ridge Parkway in 3 days in the Spring and drove to CO in August for 2 MINI rallys. The car drove like a dream for 10+ hour days in 95-104 degree heat. We averaged 37 mpg and on 2 legs got 40 mpg. Couldn't have been happier. On one of the mountain climbs I was told by a MINI driver following that he couldn't believe a Clubman could corner like it did. Had the timing chain tensioner replaced under warranty. There is an ongoing problem with the driver's side window not closing as it should. I've had it reprogrammed and it was fixed for about a month. Sometimes it repairs itself, sometimes it doesn't. Its just an inconvenience. I live too far from a dealer, to be making regular trips to get it reprogrammed. This is my daily driver for a 100 mi. commute. Overall its a great car and a lot of FUN.…
